European Database for occupational exposure to hazardous substances and work process generated pollutants
The implementation of political measures and strategies for targeted workplace risk assessment and risk management requires more knowledge about current situation of exposure. It is necessary to know much better and which substances are used or generated at which workplaces (sectors, occupations) and via which technologies.
There are plenty of such exposure data hidden in national databases in the EU and EFTA Member states. The DG Employment of the EU wants to uncover this treasure and build up an EU-wide database from these national data. The preliminary name of the database is HazChem@Work.
